It’s called the Two-step Product Launch Funnel, and I used it to sell out the latest launch for my 8-figure ecommerce brand.

The funnel leverages 2 templates:

  • The Social Proof Double Buy Box Page

How I optimized these templates for desktop, mobile and tablet traffic

Proven Profitable Product Pre-sell Page

This is essentially a pre-sell page for your new product, designed to get people to engage with your content before they reach the buy box.

This strategy is based on the Commitment & Consistency Principle, which says that if someone takes an action — in this case, going from the category page to the product pre-sell page — then they are more likely to take another action (buying our product).

During our launch 45,740 people landed on this Product Pre-sell Page, and while only 40% of them (16,948) clicked over to the Product Page…

We still got 2,060 purchases, or approximately a 4.5% conversion rate.

So even though less than half of these people saw the buy box, we still got a better conversion rate than with our previous single-page sales funnel.

This is similar to the difference between a link ad vs. a video ad on Facebook. While a link ad might get you more clicks, a video ad will usually get you higher quality clicks (and therefore more sales) because they’ve already engaged with your content.

The Social Proof Double Buy Box Page

The 16,948 people who clicked over from the Product Pre-sell Page landed on this sales page.

Unlike the previous template, this page opens immediately with a dynamic buy box at the top — including an image carousel, sales copy and a call to action.

As the name suggests, this template leverages long-form social proof content sandwiched between two dynamic buy boxes, one at the top and one at the bottom.

Add an FAQ and a few anchored CTAs and that’s really all you need in this template, especially since traffic is coming from a content-heavy pre-sell page.
