About 80%* of companies run split tests to determine the effectiveness of their website and landing pages, and studies show that these tests can increase conversions by up to 400%!
But while conversions may be the most commonly tracked metric, there are plenty of others that affect the success of your marketing.
And now, Zipify Pages enables you to track 5 new metrics that can have a big impact on your business goals:
- Sales
- Adds to Cart
- Average Order Value
- Product Revenue
- Revenue Per View
And these new metrics come with a total redesign of the Zipify Pages Split Test section.
Let me walk you through this exciting update.
Connecting Your Google Analytics Account to Zipify Pages
To use the Split Testing feature in Zipify Pages, first you need to have Google Analytics connected to your Shopify store with Enhanced Ecommerce enabled in both your Google Analytics account and Shopify admin.
If you’re not familiar with how to set this up, please refer to the Official Shopify Help Documentation for setting up Google Analytics.
This is required because Zipify Pages doesn’t collect any split testing data in-app. Instead, it uses data collected by your own Google Analytics account.
Once that’s complete, navigate to the General Settings of the Zipify Pages app.
Under the Tracking section of the app, click the “Connect Google Analytics” button and sign into your Google Analytics account:
Lastly, use the drop-down menus to select your Account, Property and View, then click save:
Working With the Redesigned Split Test Section and New Metrics
When you’re ready to start running split tests, navigate to the Split Test section of the Zipify Pages app:
On the next screen, you’ll see the following sections:
- Test Name
- Control & Variation
- Settings
- Traffic Distribution
Start by naming your test.
Then, under Control & Variation, select your control page from those available Landing Pages and Product Pages (ZP Layout), and click save. Then do the same for your variation page.
Then your Public Test URL will appear — this is the link you will use to direct customers to your split test.
Next, select a Test Goal for your split test. By default, Conversions will be selected, but it can be switched to any of the 5 new metrics available:
Set the Traffic Distribution (50/50 recommended) and click Save & Start.
On the Split Test Dashboard, you’ll see a few important metrics, including test goal metric, total views and unique views. This is also where you can make changes to your split test, declare a winner, or delete it.
When you want a complete overview of an active split test, click on the split test name or the statistic icon shown under “Actions”:
On the Test Details screen, you can observe and analyze the Google Analytics metrics for each split test page and total statistics. The traffic per device can be seen by selecting the device you want to view from under the “Select Winner” button:
