30-Day Promotional Calendar: [Weeks 1–3 Little Rocks, Week 4 Big Rock Sale]

This is the 30-day promotional calendar Ezra Firestone uses to run BOOM! Beauty, a $250M Shopify brand.

It’s a repeatable campaign: three weeks of “Little Rocks” non-sales content to build a warm audience, then one week of “Big Rock” promotional content to convert that audience into buyers.

You’ve seen the funnel mechanics in The $5/Day Ad Strategy That Scaled a $200M+ Shopify Store, and the content ideas in 25 Content Marketing Ideas for Shopify That Lower Your Ad Costs.

This is the planning layer that ties it all together.

Why a Calendar Beats a Random Promo Plan

Most brands either run promotions constantly and train their audience to wait for discounts, or they run them so rarely that they leave easy revenue on the table.

The Little Rocks Strategy works because it builds both sides of the system:

  • Little Rocks content grows your audience.
  • Big Rocks promos monetizes it.
  • The 30-day calendar keeps both moving.

Run only Little Rocks, and you build an audience that never buys. Run only Big Rocks, and you keep selling to cold traffic and CPA’s climb while ROAS drop.

“Little Rocks aren’t about selling, they’re about building trust, so when your next big promotion drops, the audience is primed to buy.” – Ezra Firestone

Week 1: Build

The job: feed the top of funnel.

Post 3–5 Little Rocks across your best channels, then put $5/day behind last month’s strongest performer. Build a warm audience of people who watched 50%+ in the last 30 days.

No promos yet, just attention, trust, and audience growth.

Week 2: Amplify

The job: find the signal and amplify it.

Keep posting Little Rocks, then review what earned the cheapest views or strongest engagement.

Retarget your warm audience with deeper content: testimonials, brand story, product education, and longer videos.

Plan your Big Rock offer, landing page, email/SMS sequence, and ad creative.

Week 3: Warm Up

The job: build trust right before the offer drops.

Lean into social proof: customer stories, reviews, UGC, product routines, and results. Increase spend on your best engagement ad if budget allows.

Then finalize the Big Rock offer, landing page, email/SMS sequence, and ad creative.

Week 4: Run the Big Rock

The job: launch a 5-day sale event to the warm audience.

Here’s the simple structure:

  • Day 1 — Announce: Open the sale with an email, SMS, social post, and conversion ad. Lead with the offer.
  • Day 2 — Reinforce: Follow-up email + new conversion creative. Emphasize urgency and what’s included.
  • Day 3 — Social Proof: Share customer testimonials, reviews, or UGC related to the sale items. Both organic and paid.
  • Day 4 — Reminder: “Sale ends in 24 hours” messaging across email, SMS, and ads.
  • Day 5 — Last Call: Final push. Email in the morning, SMS in the afternoon, ads run all day.

Run conversion ads only to warm audiences of people who watched 50%+ or more of your little rocks video content.

This should lower your CPA significantly, because you are only selling to people who have already shown an interest in your brand.

Why Every 4 Weeks Works

Every week is too often. Your audience gets tired, your offers feel less special, and customers learn to wait for the next discount.

Once a quarter is usually too rare. You miss too many monetization windows and never build real promotional momentum.

Every 4–6 weeks is the sweet spot. It’s frequent enough to drive consistent revenue, but spaced out enough that each Big Rock still feels like an event.

How to Adapt the Calendar

If you’re new to Little Rocks, run one full 30-day cycle before changing anything. Get the reps in first.

If your audience is small, this still works. It doesn’t matter if you have a list of 50 people or 50,000. You can start with $5/day engagement ads and let the warm audience build over time.

If you’re seasonal, align Big Rocks to your buying windows. A swimwear brand might go heavier in Q2 before summer. A gifting brand might stack more energy around Q4 and holidays.

The calendar is a structure, not a straitjacket.
